Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 2025
Your privacy is important to me. This Privacy Policy explains what information Vexorna.com (the “Site”) collects, how it’s used, and how you can control it. By using this Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions or concerns about your data, feel free to reach out at anna@vexorna.com.
Information We Collect
-
Information You Provide Voluntarily: When you subscribe to the Vexorna newsletter, comment on a post, or fill out a contact form, you may provide personal information such as your name, email address, and any other details you choose to share. For example, if you submit a message via a contact form, I’ll collect your name, email, and the content of your message so I can respond.
-
Information Collected Automatically: Like many websites, Vexorna uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience. When you visit the Site, certain data is automatically collected by our analytics and advertising partners. This may include your IP address, browser type, device information, pages you visit, and how long you stay on each page. Specifically, I use Google Analytics to understand which posts are popular and how visitors navigate the Site. Google Analytics may set cookies to track page views and clicks (more on cookies below and in our Cookie Policy). Additionally, if ads are displayed (via Google Ads/AdSense), those networks may collect data to show you relevant ads.
How We Use Your Information
I (Anna) may use the information collected from you in the following ways:
-
To Personalize Your Experience: Data helps me understand reader interests. For instance, knowing which blog posts are most viewed guides me on what content you all enjoy, so I can create more of it!
-
To Improve the Site: Your feedback (from comments or emails) and usage data (from analytics) are used to make Vexorna better. This could mean fixing navigation issues, writing more about topics you love, or streamlining the site’s design for easier reading.
-
To Send Periodic Emails or Newsletters: If you signed up for the email newsletter, I’ll use your email address to send you updates when there’s a new post or occasionally a roundup of popular content, behind-the-scenes updates, or exclusive goodies. Don’t worry – I hate spam too! You can unsubscribe at any time (every newsletter email will include an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom).
-
To Respond to Inquiries: Information you provide in a contact form or email is used so I can reply back to you. If you ask a question or request help, I’ll use your info to address and answer you directly.
-
For Advertising and Affiliates: To support the Site, I participate in advertising (like Google Ads) and affiliate programs (like Amazon Associates). These programs may use your browsing data (via cookies) to show you tailored ads or to track if you clicked an affiliate link on Vexorna and made a purchase. (See the Affiliate Disclaimer and Cookie Policy for more specifics on how this works.) I do not receive any personal details about you from these transactions – I can only see anonymized reports such as “X people from the blog clicked this product link.”
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to store data about your visits. Vexorna uses cookies to provide core site functionalities and to analyze and improve your experience. There are a few types of cookies in use:
-
Essential Cookies: These are necessary for the Site to function properly. For example, if we have a cookie consent banner, a cookie will remember if you’ve already seen or closed it. (We don’t currently have user login areas, so we don’t set many cookies ourselves besides basics like that.)
-
Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics which sets cookies to collect information on how visitors use the site. This helps me see things like which pages are popular, how users find the site (e.g., via Pinterest, Google search, etc.), and general usage patterns. All this data is aggregated and anonymized – I can’t see individual user identities, just trends.
-
Advertising Cookies: Third-party advertising partners like Google AdSense may use cookies (including the Google DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. These cookies allow ad networks to display ads that are more relevant to you, based on your interests or past browsing. For example, if you’ve been looking at a lot of skincare products online, the ad network might show you a moisturizer ad when you’re on my blog. I do not control these cookies, but I do allow them on the Site to help monetize content.
-
Affiliate Cookies: When you click an affiliate link on Vexorna (for instance, an Amazon product link), a cookie is set by the retailer or affiliate program to track that you came from my Site. If you make a purchase, this cookie tells them I referred you, so I can earn a small commission. It does not reveal any personal information about you to me – I never see who bought what, only that a purchase was made.
For more detailed info on cookies and how to manage them, please see our dedicated Cookie Policy below.
How We Protect Your Data
I take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. The Site is secured via HTTPS (meaning data you transmit is encrypted in transit). I keep the blog’s software, plugins, and security tools up-to-date to guard against breaches. I also limit access to your personal data – it’s basically just me (Anna) who handles any personal info you provide, and I treat it with care.
That said, no website can guarantee 100% security. (Hackers, unfortunately, are a thing.) In the unlikely event of a data breach involving your personal info, I will notify affected users as required by law and do my best to mitigate any issues.
Third-Party Disclosure
I do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to outside parties for marketing purposes. I may share generic aggregated demographic information (e.g., total monthly pageviews, or general reader locations) with potential partners or advertisers, but this contains no personal data – it’s just stats about the site’s traffic as a whole.
However, I do use some third-party service providers to help operate the Site or administer activities on my behalf, and they will have access to certain data as needed to perform their functions. Key third parties include:
-
Google Analytics: (Analytics data, as described above.)
-
Google AdSense/Ads: (Advertising data/cookies, as described.)
-
Email Newsletter Service: If I use a service like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, etc. to send newsletters, your name and email would be stored on their servers. Such services are GDPR-compliant and secure, and I’d only choose reputable providers that respect privacy.
-
Web Hosting: Vexorna is hosted by a web hosting company, which means any data you submit to the site (comments, form submissions) passes through their servers. They are obligated to keep data secure as part of their service.
-
Affiliate Programs: As part of affiliate tracking, if you click an affiliate link, the program (like Amazon) will know you came from this Site. They have their own privacy policies for how they handle that data on their end.
These third parties are only given the information necessary to provide their services, and they are not permitted to use your info for other purposes. I do my best to work only with trusted partners with strong privacy practices.
Your Privacy Choices & Rights
-
Opting Out of Emails: If you subscribe to the newsletter, you can unsubscribe anytime by clicking the link at the bottom of any email. You won’t hear from me again unless you re-subscribe. 😉
-
Blocking Cookies: You have the right to decide whether to accept cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Keep in mind that disabling cookies might affect some functionality of the Site (for example, if an embedded video or a social media share button sets a cookie). Our Cookie Policy section below provides more tips on managing cookies.
-
GDPR (EU Visitors): If you are in the European Union, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. This includes the right to access the personal data I have about you, and to ask that your personal data be corrected or erased. It also includes the right to object to processing or restrict certain processing (like say, you don’t want me to use your email for newsletters anymore – you can unsubscribe, or contact me to remove you). If you want to exercise any of these rights, please email me at anna@vexorna.com. I will respond to EU requests about data access/removal within 30 days, as required by law.
-
California Privacy Rights (CCPA): Similarly, California residents can request a notice describing what categories of personal information I share with third parties for direct marketing purposes. (In our case, I don’t share info for direct marketing without consent, so there’s not much to report.) If you have questions or specific requests regarding your personal info, let me know and I’ll do my best to help.
-
Do Not Track Signals: Some browsers have “Do Not Track” features. Currently, I don’t have a specialized response to DNT signals, because there’s no industry standard for this. Rest assured I’m only collecting and sharing your data as outlined in this policy (and mostly via cookies you can control).
Children’s Privacy
Vexorna.com is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, please do not submit any information on this Site. If a parent or guardian believes that their child under 13 has provided personal data on Vexorna, please contact me immediately at anna@vexorna.com, and I will do my best to promptly remove such information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law or my data practices. When I make changes, I will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top. Significant changes might also be announced via a blog post or email notification. I encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
By continuing to use the Site after any changes become effective, you are indicating that you accept the updated policy. If any changes are material and you do not agree with them, please stop using the Site and, if you’re really concerned, feel free to contact me to express your feedback.
Contact Me
